I started this month with the promise that I would of course not only play good PLO but play a lot of hands and watch tons of videos and do some study of some of the regulars in the soft PLO25 games on Black Chip Poker. The good news is I got some good reads on a couple of the regular guys. The bad news is I did nowhere near enough study of hands and a couple of the good players still own my face off with their mighty j764d/s because I can’t find a fold when their weird straight or boat comes in and they bet cunningly for value!

On top of that I’ve hardly played enough hands – well I’ve played enough to bank about $200 in rakeback which is a pretty cool result for someone’s who’s Hold’em Manager tells him he is the ultimate Eastern European style player – a rakeback pro. Given the huge amount of rake in PLO, however that also tells you I didn’t play enough. This goes along with my generally busy life at the moment – balancing business, work and poker isn’t easy and sleep doesn’t come often these days except it seems when I have top set of K’s (yes you read it correctly I did in fact doze off for a second with top set and timed out – worryingly at 8pm!). Well it’s been a while since I updated here on FasterMule outside of the usual activity in the chat room and the odd comment in the forums. I wanted to take some time to recapture some of the original more chilled out site that was so popular a year ago. What’s the point of having a site with a ridiculous name like fastermule if you have a serious formal layout on the home page instead of my random musings!.

It goes without saying that PLO is the future of online poker for now. Often no limit hold’em is simply full of nits and people from countries where a bag of rice constitutes a feast whether it’s cooked or not trying to grind out $1/hr. As a consequence that’s the game I’ve been learning during my absence from updating the site – I was in no position to teach you guys anything but that’s changing quickly and once I hit $50PLO and up I’ll start popping the odd $10PLO video up and we’ll go from there.
